Molded Fiber Barrier Additive
FluoRight 660
High performance oil repellent for molded fiber packaging
FluoRight™ 660 is a water-based fluorinated copolymer dispersion developed for molded fiber and other paper-based fiber materials. Designed for internal addition, it improves resistance to edible oils, grease and other high-oil media.
Product Features
- 01Water-based fluorinated copolymer system designed for internal addition in molded fiber production.
- 02Low recommended dosage of approximately 1.0% based on oven-dry pulp weight.
- 03Disperses uniformly in the stock preparation system and is suitable for complex molded fiber geometries.
- 04Improves oil and grease resistance; final performance depends on the pulp furnish, forming process and hot-pressing conditions.
- 05According to the available SDS, it is not classified as hazardous under GHS and is unrestricted for transport under IATA, IMDG, ADR and RID.
Typical Properties
| Item | Specification |
|---|---|
| Appearance | Pale yellow transparent liquid |
| Fluorinated copolymer | 27.5–29.5% |
| pH value | 3–6 |
| Physical state | Liquid |
| Water solubility | Soluble in water |
Use & Processing
- 01Add directly to the stock preparation chest under continuous agitation.
- 02Use approximately 1.0% based on oven-dry pulp weight, then adjust for the pulp furnish, production conditions and required oil resistance.
- 03If required for metering or dispersion, pre-dilute with clean water and avoid prolonged standing after dilution.
- 04Provide sufficient mixing and circulation before the forming stage to ensure uniform distribution.
- 05Conduct compatibility or laboratory trials before combining with sizing agents, retention aids, dyes, defoamers or other process additives.
Applications
- 01Molded fiber food containers, trays, plates, bowls, cups and lids
- 02Paper, paperboard and other fiber-based packaging requiring oil and grease resistance
