PFPE Fluid Selection Guide
PFPE is a chemistry platform used across several very different functions. Heat transfer, lubrication, vapor-phase processing and dielectric immersion cooling place different demands on viscosity, boiling behavior, volatility, electrical properties and system design. The correct first step is therefore to choose the PFPE series by function.
1. TC Series — PFPE heat-transfer fluids
FluoRight TC Series is designed for precision temperature-control and heat-transfer systems where chemical stability, electrical insulation and low evaporation loss are valued. The series contains multiple grades so a user can match the operating-temperature window and fluid properties to the thermal loop rather than treating PFPE heat-transfer fluid as one single grade.
2. HG Series — PFPE high-performance lubricants
FluoRight HG Series addresses lubrication rather than bulk heat transfer. PFPE lubricants are used where chemical inertness, low evaporation and reliable lubrication under severe temperature or wear conditions are important. Viscosity grade, load, speed, material pair and operating temperature should be considered together.
3. VP Series — PFPE vapor-phase process fluids
FluoRight VP Series is built around controlled boiling behavior for vapor-phase heating and thermal processing. In these systems the phase-change temperature is part of the process design, so fluid selection is tied directly to the required operating temperature, equipment configuration and heat-transfer cycle.
4. SC Series — PFPE single-phase immersion coolants
FluoRight SC Series is intended for dielectric single-phase immersion cooling. Here the fluid remains liquid while directly surrounding electronic hardware, so dielectric performance, thermal stability, materials compatibility, viscosity, vapor pressure and system hydraulics become central selection variables.
5. Choose the function first, then the grade
The four series are not substitutes for one another. TC, HG, VP and SC represent different engineering functions. After the function is fixed, the specific grade can be selected based on the operating window and validated in the actual equipment. This hierarchy prevents keyword-level similarity from turning into technical confusion.
